Cathy Waldron, BNS, RN

Education:
B.S., Indiana Wesleyan University; Legal Nurse Consultant Certificate Program, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)

Cathy Waldron graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. After earning her undergraduate degree, she joined the Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant, where she was assigned as a staff nurse on the medical surgical ward. During her active duty she was certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). She worked in the emergency room and was eventually promoted to assistant charge nurse. Cathy also served on the Policies & Procedures Committee and was responsible for quality assurance monitoring in the ER.

After retiring from the Air Force as a captain in 1990, Cathy became a certified emergency nurse. She worked at Riverview Hospital on the surgical ward for one year until she was offered a position at St. Vincent Hospital in the Emergency Department where she remained for five years.

Cathy decided to attend the IUPUI Legal Nurse Consulting program, where she received her certification in 2002. The program was a perfect match for her. It gave her an avenue to use her strong desire to help people.

Cathy joined Stewart & Stewart in August of 2003. She focuses primarily on medical malpractice, and she is now one of four nurses employed by Stewart & Stewart. Cathy is a tremendous asset to our ViewMed team. She has the clinical background to recognize malpractice issues and the legal background to be able to successfully move medical malpractice cases forward with both efficiency and success.
