Blame it on the rain: Fort Wayne crash due to wet roads

WANE reports that a Fort Wayne auto accident was caused by slick roads due to heavy rains in the area. The Fort Wayne auto accident happened on Interstate 69 near mile marker 107.

According to Indiana State Police, an SUV hydroplaned and clipped a car. The car spun into the cement divider in the median. The SUV then over corrected and flipped over in the Fort Wayne auto accident.

No one was injured in the Fort Wayne auto accident, but traffic was backed up for several hours until the interstate reopened.

Gary auto accident injures 4

Four people suffered injuries in a Gary drunk driving accident, according to The Northwest Indiana Times.

The 19-year-old driver was traveling at a high rate of speed on the interstate when his Mazda rear-ended a flat bed truck carrying a load of lumber.

The vehicle became lodged under the truck following the Gary auto accident. Three of the occupants had to be removed from the vehicle by firefighters. The driver of the car was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and consumption by a minor.

Three of the vehicle occupants were charged with public intoxication. One passenger left the scene of the Gary auto accident before police arrived.

At least one person in the vehicle was cited earlier in the evening for possession of alcohol by a minor by a U.S. park ranger at the beach at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.

Family displaced from home following Fort Wayne auto accident

The Journal Gazette reports that a 24-year-old man is responsible for crashing his vehicle into a family home in a Fort Wayne auto accident.

The accident happened around 3:45 a.m. when the man was driving south on Addison Avenue. He did not realize the street ended at Vance Avenue, and the car traveled over a sidewalk and across a lawn before crashing into a home on Vance Avenue.

The vehicle entered the home, but no one inside the home or in the vehicle was injured in the Fort Wayne auto accident. The driver of the car had a blood alcohol content of nearly twice the legal limit and was arrested on a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated.

New York Giants player, brother involved in Indianapolis motorcycle accident

The brother of New York Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka was involved in an Indianapolis motorcycle accident, according to ESPN.com.

Mathias and his brother were riding motorcycles in Indianapolis when the brother hit a car pulling out of an apartment complex. The brother was not wearing a helmet, though one was attached to his motorcycle.
