A 24-year-old woman was killed when her vehicle was hit by a fire truck, according to the South Bend Tribune.

State Police say the woman was driving her vehicle in the same intersection as the fire truck, which was en route to an emergency call. The fire truck pushed her car into two other vehicles in the Gary auto accident.

A one-month-old infant was in the woman’s vehicle when the Gary car accident occurred, but was not injured.

Police say failure to yield to an emergency vehicle may have been the cause of the Gary auto accident.
