South Bend car accident leaves teenager with burn injury

A South Bend teen was severely burned after her car struck a utility pole.

The Indiana auto accident occurred when the unlicensed girl lost control of the vehicle she was driving and ran it into a pole on the side of the road.

According to the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, live wires from the struck utility pole fell onto the car and came into contact with the driver, causing second and third degree burn injuries.

The teen remains in the burn unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital and faces possible charges of driving without a license and reckless driving in the South Bend car accident.
