What if the airbags in your vehicle are putting your family’s safety at risk? The Indianapolis defective product lawyers at Stewart & Stewart Attorneys explain that this is a reality for millions of Americans after auto parts manufacturer Takata Corp., recalled 34 million vehicles due to problems with their airbags.
The recall was initiated after reports of vehicle occupants being seriously injured or killed when metal debris was hurled as airbags inflated during crashes. Reports indicate that as many as 100 motorists have been injured and six others were killed when the faulty airbags deployed.
Since the recall was announced, little information has been offered regarding the makes and models of the vehicles that are affected. The Detroit Free Press reports that federal officials plan to hold a hearing next week where the cause of the problem will be discussed, as well as what consumers can do to protect themselves.
At Stewart & Stewart Attorneys, our Indianapolis personal injury lawyers are hopeful this recall can effectively correct the issue that has caused so much harm to hundreds of people.
