The Indianapolis Star reports that a 32-car pile-up killed three people. The Indianapolis auto accident happened on an icy stretch of Interstate 69.
Witnesses report that the pile-up started when a vehicle slid off the road around mile marker 8. A semi and fire truck then pulled over to assist the stranded motorist. Vehicles that were unable to slow down began slamming into one another in the Indianapolis car accident.
State police report that 22 passenger vehicles, nine semis and one fire truck were involved in the Indiana auto accident.
Eleven people were initially taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries following the Indianapolis auto accident.
