Arts education programs in our nation’s schools are facing drastic budget cuts. In fact, only an estimated $250 million per year is allocated to support the arts in schools. In spite of a lack of funding, these classes have shown to increase academic achievement in students by as much as four times, and students who take courses in the arts are three times less likely to miss school.
To help provide much needed funds to arts programs in our city, the Indianapolis personal injury lawyers with Stewart & Stewart Attorneys are working to raise money is support of art classes in area schools as part of our charity of the month program.
Art With A Heart was founded in 2002 to supply at-risk youth with a chance to experience the visual arts. Since that time the program has grown to serve more than 2,000 students at as many as 25 different locations throughout the greater Indianapolis area.
