The Carmel Police Department hosts the Teen Academy every summer to support local teens in the community. Students accepted into the program learn decision-making and leadership skills while creating relationships with their local police and peers. For the past twelve years, Stewart & Stewart has proudly sponsored this important and worthwhile summer program for kids in our community. Local teens enroll in the program to get a first-hand look at what police academy training is like. The program mainly takes place on the Carmel Middle School campus. Students spend a whole week taking classes on SWAT, internet abuse, and traffic stops. They also participate in police dog training, close order drills, and physical fitness training. Attendees receive t-shirts, water bottles, and even a chance to earn scholarships. At the end of the program, all participating teens enjoy an award ceremony to celebrate their commitment and achievements.
